Julie Dieterman
My name is Julie Dieterman. I have been practicing yoga since 2010, initially as a means to improve my health and well-being. Over time, yoga has contributed to my physical and spiritual development, with self-acceptance becoming a vital component of my practice. To deepen my yoga practice, I became a RYT 200 Registered Yoga Teacher in 2014 and began teaching in 2016, focusing on chair yoga and yin yoga. In 2018, I received certification in Y12SR, the Yoga of 12-Step Recovery, and commenced training in Yoga Therapy. Subsequently, I achieved RYT 500 status in 2020 and became a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) in 2022. My additional certifications include Yin Yoga, Chair Yoga, and Reiki.
As a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT), I have provided services to high-risk obstetric patients at Corewell Health in Grand Rapids, MI, cancer patients at Bronson Cancer Center in Kalamazoo, MI, Memory Care chair yoga groups, and women’s addiction recovery retreats. My therapeutic approach emphasizes grounding techniques designed to relieve tension, stress, and anxiety.
My mission is to make yoga accessible to individuals experiencing physical limitations or illnesses. I specialize in gentle yoga classes suitable for all participants, offering both chair and mat postures. I am committed to the belief that yoga is inclusive and can benefit everyone.
